Lutheran and United Church Campus Ministries seeking two outgoing student or young adults to conduct ministry of hospitality at the Faith and Spirituality Centre at the U of C. Encourage participation in LGBTQ2IAS+ affirming community based on progressive Christian values.

The primary duties this individual will be responsible for:

Engagement

  • Engage with Young Adults in person at UCalgary Faith & Spirituality Centre (and Mount Royal University as required), and in Church circles (congregations, camps & youth gatherings) to encourage participation in Campus Ministries.
  • Engage with Young Adults on social media to encourage participation in Campus Ministries
  • Support work of UCalgary Faith And Spirituality Centre and University Chaplains at agreement of Supervisor

Program Support

  • Understand and interpret to the staff team the needs of students and young adults
  • Assist staff team in the delivery of existing programs (at time of writing: Simple Chefs, Simple Supper, Drumming Program, Compassion Cultivating Training, Women’s Circle, Retreat, Dirty Theology, BBQ’s, FSC events, worship and others as they come up)
  • Support, Supervision and Evaluation

  • Strong sense of self and personal faith journey; open to people of all faiths, sexual orientations and genders
  • Able to organize and conduct programming
  • Gift of hospitality
  • Can articulate and share own faith in an authentic manner as appropriate
  • Ability to keep healthy boundaries and confidentiality
  • Networking, community and relationship building
  • Willingness to work as a team
  • Must meet the requirements of the Canada Summer Jobs Program

Open Positions:
